LoadOutSay v1.2 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 21-03-2003 - Downloads: 220
Certainly this has been done before, but this is my take on a fairly common script. This script auto-announces the name of your loadout after you visit an inventory station.

What people think of this kind of script varies. As far as I can tell, most players hate it when people announce this sort of thing. Personally, I love knowing what gear people are buying. As long as the gear is described reasonably, knowing what people are buying is a huge indicator of what role they're planning on taking. If your HoF announces he just bought light armor with an e-pack, that's important information.

In the interests of making the script non-annoying, it has the following features:
It only announces gear after you step out of a station (timer based).
It won't announce anything if your loadout doesn't change when you use the station.
It won't announce anything more often than once per 10 seconds.
It has a toggle so you can turn it off if it bothers you or anyone else too much.

There is now a feature in UberMute to allow you to mute other people's output from LoadoutSay. So if you're sick of hearing this script spam things, go get UberMute. This script only states what named loadout you bought. If you buy any addons (a different pack or grenades, for example), it won't mention that.

SpawnWeapon v1.1.1 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 21-03-2003 - Downloads: 211
Do you find you don't want to drop your blaster but you hate spawning with it drawn? Are you a T1 veteran who cant get used to the fact you don't spawn with your disclauncher out (and it doesn't help that you spawn invisible...)? Do you exclusively play the Ultra Heinous MOD and really want to have your Atomic Decapitator out when you respawn?

If the answer to any of these was yes, then this script is for you. In the script browser (part of Writer's support.vl2) you get a new control screen that lets you select any weapon available in the current gametype you're logged into. You have to join a game first for your local game to get the weapon list from the server, but once you're in, you can go back to the options panel and select any of the weapons available. If you spawn with the selected weapon, it will be drawn for you automatically. This includes mission starts and respawns. Even better, the script remembers the name of the weapon, and will attempt to draw that weapon on spawn on any server you join, even modded ones. The server just has to have a weapon of that name.

New! Now SpawnWeapon offers the option to mute your ability to fire weapons for a user configurable time after respawning. This can be used to prevent accidental weapons discharge when pressing fire to respawn. Even if you want to respawn with the blaster, I think this is still a worthwhile reason to use this script!

TapWeapon V1.1.5 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 21-03-2003 - Downloads: 281
There are a lot of weapons in T2, and most mods out there expand the list. In the heat of battle it's key to be able to get to the weapon you need fast.

Several scripters out there have made "doubling" scripts that allow you to have multiple weapons per key. On that count mine isn't original. However mine has what I consider to be critical funtionality for the player who wants fast response time. Also, like SpawnWeapon, this script is completely MOD friendly - it dynamically builds its weapon lists from those on the server you are playing on.

When enabled, this script replaces the function of the six "slots" you can bind in T2. Before you can use it, you need to go to the weapon selection screen and select up to two weapons for each slot (see the screenshot). The first weapon in each slot will be selected immediately when you hit that key. The second will, by default, be selected if you hit the same key in 200ms. You can change that to be a longer delay or make the key function as a toggle instead, alternating between the two weapons.

Throw Control v1.2 - Author: Crunchy - Date: 08-10-2001 - Downloads: 346
Normally to throw a grenade at full power you have to hold the key down and then release it for each grenade you throw. This can be tricky and often times you end up with a grenade at your own feet. This is where throwControl comes in, you can either tap the key and you will throw one grenade at full power or you can hold down the key to throw a stream of full power grenades. Note that it takes the same time to throw a full power grenade as normal but it is automated for you, invaluable when your in the heat of a battle.

UberDeployer v1.0.1 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 21-03-2003 - Downloads: 327
This script makes it easier to deploy ... well, deployables. Normally, T2 requires you to press and then release your 'use pack' key to deploy something, and if there's a problem with the spot you chose, tough. This often forces a manic pressing of the pack key while moving around looking for a valid deploy position.

With this script, you can press and hold down the 'use pack' key. So long as you hold it down, the script will continue to try and deploy any deployable pack you have. Normally you would recieve a spam of messages if the script cannot deploy where you are currently looking, but the script mutes these messages. To keep you from deploying completely blindly, it will show you the first unique message each time. This means you can still get some message spam if the message you are getting alternates rapidly, but at least you know why you can't deploy.

Also, this script will stop deploying when you successfully deploy something, even if you have more than one thing you can deploy. This keeps you from rapidly deploying several of things you get more than one of, like pulse or motion sensors. Because of the asynchronous way T2 handles the deploy requests and the feedback from the server that something was deployed, it is still possible for this to occur occasionally. It's more likely the higher your ping, since it takes longer for the server to tell you you've deployed something.

UberExplosives v1.0.0 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 21-03-2003 - Downloads: 170
If you've ever seen screenshots of my Tribes 2 config, you know I like having a lot of key information near the center of my screen. While this does get busy, it means that when I need to know something during a fight, I only have to look away from the action a tiny bit to see it.

This script carries that idea to the inventory of mines and grenades. In classic, you need to know how many mines you have on hand, and you need to know number and type of hand grenade in any flavor of T2. So here is what this script does for you.

(1)Three distinct HUDs - one for grenade count, one for mine count and one for grenade type.

(2)HudMover/Manager compatible. The reason there are three HUDs is that I realize not everyone wants all three pieces of information. Also, since each is separate, you have control over how you arrange them. The arrangement shown in the screenshot to the right is just how I've arranged them. You could put them in a compact arrangement or put them in far corners of the screen.

(3)Graphical grenade type display. In the screenshots to the right you can see, from top to bottom, the icons for explosives, flares, whiteouts, concussion and deployable cameras.

(4)Small HUDs. These huds are meant to be able to be placed near the center of your screen without being obtrusive. The numbers have slight drop shadows to improve their visibility against bright backdrops. The grenade-type icon is slightly transparent, to reduce the visual distraction.

UberFaves v1.1.2 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 21-03-2003 - Downloads: 206
While 20 loadout favorites seems like a lot, as I've gotten into the many roles you can play in T2, I've been dissatisfied with the combinations of weapons I could have ready access to. You can use the quickfaves keys for packs and grenades, but not for weapons. Seeking a better way to organize my favorites, I came up with this script.

UberFaves starts out buy letting you have as many as 30 favorites. It offers an extended favorites menu whether you use its other features or not.

It also provides three new keybinds. Each bind. when pressed, activates one set of 10 keybinds on your numpad. This means you can press one key to set your numpad to a new set of favorites. So getting to any favorite is two keypresses away. The neat thing is the initial keybinds can be on the numpad. If this is confusing, read the in-game readme - hopefully it will make things clear. I use this to divide my loadouts into 10 each of light, medium and heavy armors. While I don't actually have 30 armors defined, I am much better organized with the ones I do use.

UberTarget v1.2.2 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 19-12-2002 - Downloads: 688
Those of you familiar with T1 will remember that beacons and laser targets had two rangefinding marks on them. This is because, on level ground, there are two firing angles that will get an arced shot to the target. The further away the target is, the closer these two angles are, and when they converge, that angle is the one represnting the farthest shot you can take.

It turns out that even though T2 only provides one range marker on beacons and rangefinders, the Dynamix probably intended in some way to provide both, because there's a simple way to toggle between markers for high- and low-arc shots.

UberWheel v1.75 - Author: UberGuy - Date: 19-12-2002 - Downloads: 180
This T2 script will allow you to control how your mouse wheel operates. My wheel button is bound to grenades, and my wheel "roll" is bound to "change weapon".
What would often happen is I would change weapons while throwing a grenade because I would accidentally roll the wheel at the same time I was pressing it. So I wrote this script. It has only two controls, both accessible from it's control panel in Writer's script browser. The 1st is the number of "clicks" you want to have to roll the mouse before it will register, and the 2nd is the time interval you want that number to be counted in. For example, the default is 2 clicks in 200 milliseconds. Neither one click or 2 clicks in a longer period of time will count. But rolling the wheel several clicks at a time is sure to register at least once. Play with the settings to get the feel you like.
